10TEC IGRID ACTIVEX CONTROL 4.0
TRIAL VERSION AND DEMO

End-User License Agreement
==========================
Please, read carefully the applied EULA to become familiar with the End-User License Agreement for this product.
Note that this demo project uses the 10Tec version of vbAccelerator ImageList ActiveX Control 2.2 (vbalIml220_10Tec.ocx) which can be freely used and redistributed.

Trial limitations
=================
If you attempt to use this unregistered version of iGrid outside of VB IDE, you will get nag screens with the mention of it. You may also see other mentions of it (for instance, watermark labels in the component) while working with the demo version. The demo version of the component has no functional limitation and can be used to test any feature.

How to install and run the iGrid demo
=====================================
To install the iGrid demo, launch the iGrid.ActiveX.4.0.Demo.exe file. Note that you must have the administrator privileges to properly install the demo and all its constituent parts into your system.

After the installation is complete, you can run the iGrid demo. It is launched automatically unless you clear the 'Launch demo' checkbox on the last form of the installation wizard dialog. The installation program also creates shortcuts to the demo applications on your desktop and the 10Tec Products\iGrid ActiveX 4.0 group in the Windows Start menu you can use to launch the iGrid demos and open the accompanying documentation.

The iGrid demo applications were compiled in VB6 and require VB6 run-time library. If you don't have this library, you can download it from Microsoft's website at

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=7B9BA261-7A9C-43E7-9117-F673077FFB3C

or use the following direct link instead:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/5/a/d/5ad868a0-8ecd-4bb0-a882-fe53eb7ef348/VB6.0-KB290887-X86.exe

VB6.0-KB290887-X86.exe is a self-extracting executable file that installs versions of the Microsoft Visual Basic run-time files required by all applications created with Visual Basic 6.0.

The iGrid demo uses the following two ActiveX controls:

1) iGrid 4.0 Control (iGrid400_10Tec.ocx)

2) 10Tec version of vbAccelerator ImageList Control 2.2 (vbalIml220_10Tec.ocx)

You need to register these controls in your system in order to use them in your projects. These components are registered automatically during the installation, but if you copy them on a new pc, you need to register them manually.

Possible troubles with the demo
===============================
1. In Windows Vista or Windows 7, when you open the demo source code (a VB6 project) using the corresponding shortcut in the Windows Start Menu, you get the "Error accessing system registry" and "Errors during load" message boxes. When trying to launch the demo project in the VB IDE, you can also encounter the "Path/file access error to a .vbp file" message box.

This happens because of the strong security system in those OS's. To open the demo source code, first launch Microsoft Visual Basic IDE with the administrator's rights and then open the corresponding .vbp file manually from the VB IDE. The default locations for the iGrid demo source code project files are:

C:\Program Files\10Tec\ActiveX\iGrid 4.0\Demo_Main\iGrid4_Demo_Main.vbp

C:\Program Files\10Tec\ActiveX\iGrid 4.0\Demo_NewFeatures\iGrid4_Demo_NewFeatures.vbp

2. When you run the iGrid demo, you see the "MSVBVM60.DLL library not found" message. This means that you don't have the properly installed Visual Basic 6 run-time library. Try to download and install the VB run-time library using one of the links mentioned above.

3. You may see a message box with the following text:

Component 'vbalIml220_10Tec.ocx', or one of its dependencies not
correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

You will receive this message until you register the ActiveX components used in the demo. This message may appear if the components have not been registered properly in your system or have been damaged after the installation. In this case you need to reinstall the components or register them by yourself like other OCX components using the Project\Components dialog in VB IDE, the regsvr32.exe utility supplied with Windows or with any third-party program which can be used to register ActiveX components.

If you get other error messages while you are trying to launch the demos, please, let us know about it by sending an e-mail to our support service.
